The entrepreneur who saw a business opportunity from a personal obstacle

Gabriel Busso created Vivet, Vivet Market and Plant, the first marketplace for plant-based products in the country and plans to close 2024 with a turnover of US$ 5 million

Visionary and determined entrepreneur, Gabriel Busso has the ability to turn every personal challenge into an innovative opportunity. From overcoming a speech disorder that prevented him from expressing himself to overcoming an allergy to cow’s milk protein. As a result of overcoming him, he created Vivet, a brand of plant-based drinks.

“Thanks to that allergy I was motivated to be able to develop a business, which isa solution for those who cannot consume dairy products, a plant-based alternative. That is to say, by changing my point of view, what was a disadvantage for me I could turn into my greatest advantage ,” says Busso.

In 2016 , during his secondary studies, doing research, Busso discovered almond milk as a substitute for cow’s milk and saw a business opportunity : “The economic situation was uncertain and people were full of fears. Many questioned my decision to start a business, especially for investing in a new and more expensive product than cow’s milk. However, he firmly believed that he was creating a necessary food for society: plant milk, a healthy alternative to bovine milk. With that conviction, I was sure that my venture would be successful,” says Busso. The following year, with an initial investment of US$20,000, Vivet founded.

Initial progress

The first thing he developed was the line of vegetable milk based on cashews . He began the tests at his house with a blender and gave it to all his family and friends to try. Then, with the first industrial production, he realized that there was a lot of chestnut paste left in the filters that had no use. Then, it occurred to him that with that leftover he could make a chestnut-based cream cheese, which was the second line of products he developed.

In2018, Vivet Market was born,  an online store with more than 1,500 products from more than 150 brands , covering healthy points throughout the country.

This year it launched Plant, the first marketplace for plant-based products in the country . This online platform connects producers with consumers directly without intermediaries: “We invested US$20,000 to develop the app focused on improving the user experience», highlights the entrepreneur.

The companies led by Busso aim to achieve theUS$ 5 million by 2024 and its expansion plan points to markets such as Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico and Europe.

Notable achievements include the ability to import chestnuts directly; the acquisition of its first vehicles for deliveries; the launch of its milk in Tetra Pak containers; technological development to optimize each sector of the company; ⁠move to the distribution center in Ezeiza; and the inclusion of its Vivet products on supermarket shelves.

Outside the business environment

Beyond business, Busso is a philanthropist and writer with a passion for psychology and human behavior. With his book “ Being the best version ” he seeks to explain how, by following some steps, we can empower ourselves exponentially in different areas of life. In his second work, “ The Art of Directing ,” he shares discoveries about the nature of human behavior and strategies for personal empowerment.

Busso’s recommendation for those people who, out of fear, do not dare to take that entrepreneurial step: “The best method to hack our mind is through meditation… there, in silence, when we quiet our mind, we can sow new seeds in our subconscious. Start thinking and feeling like the person we want to be, imagining scenarios of what life would be like if we were already those people we want to reach”, he concludes.
