The council is still awaiting the studies on the competences of the government
The mayor of Escaldes-Engordany, Rosa Gili, has stated that the suspension of the granting of planning permission has not caused ‘massive problems’ and assures that the return of the population has been ‘natural’. This is how the municipal councillor explained it today at the celebration of the Encants d’Escaldes festival, referring to the precautionary suspension of building permits. The decision was approved unanimously in this new legislature, in which Gili has repeated mandate, ‘and it should not be a surprise to anyone’, she admitted, ‘we had it in our election manifesto’, she referred.
The licensing of licences was agreed on by the common council while awaiting the studies of the maximum load. In this sense, the councillor has assured that they are ‘working’ to have them completed and that they are waiting to carry out the revision of the town planning plan and the studies that fall within the competences of the government. What Gili wanted to emphasise is that the studies must be used ‘to find out what kind of parish we want’. He argued this by referring to the preservation of landscapes and natural landscapes, especially in the face of drought or lack of snow, as he exemplified.
