Google, part of the Alphabet group, has announced that it will invest 1 billion dollars in a data center in Great Britain, which will expand the company’s presence in this key market .
According to Reuters, the data center will be located on land in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, which Google acquired in October 2020.»This new data center will help meet the growing demand for our artificial intelligence and cloud services,» said the company’s chief financial officer, Ruth Porat.Google is already present in the region, with offices under construction in Saint Giles and Kings Cross. It also has a research collaboration with the University of Cambridge.
