The collaboration was established at the meeting that took place at the Casa de la Muntanya.

Alquèssar (Osca), Rupit (Osona) and Ordino are committed to promote the joint tourism promotion of the three territories, within the Iberian Cluster of the ‘Best Tourism Villages’ of UN Tourism. This alignment was established at the working meeting that took place at the Casa de la Muntanya and was attended by the mayor of Rupit, Albert Marcé, the mayoress of Aragó, Ana Blasco, and the councilor of Tourism, Sports and Dynamització of Ordino, Jordi Serracanta. Geographical proximity, rurality and landscape uniqueness have led to this synergy that will result in a joint product representing the three territories.

All three towns are part of the ‘Best Tourism Villages’ network, a network made up of seven towns in Spain, Andorra and Portugal. The union of the three towns aims to expand the range of action with new cross-border projects. First of all, the conclusions of the working session that took place this Sunday afternoon included the creation of a joint agenda of cultural, social and sporting events that should be in operation in the summer. The three towns together want to attract local visitors, Catalan, Aragonese and Andorran.Another of the points worked between the towns recognized as ‘Best Tourism Village’ is the creation of designing an itinerary that connects the three towns with visits, activities, and the promotion of gastronomic tourism. The itinerary and the joint promotion would be integrated into the Ordino Tourism Dynamization Plan, which was launched in 2020.

The mayors visited the commune house to sign the visitors’ book and visited the town of Ordino, accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism, Sports and Promotion, Jordi Serracanta, and the Councilor for Communication, Information Systems, Citizen Participation, Associations and Human Resources Management, Meritxell Rabadà.
