Espot will agree the terms of the collaboration with Cairat

The Government will participate in the financing of the supervised flats for the over 65s. This was announced by the head of the Government, Xavier Espot, in the General Council session held yesterday afternoon. According to Espot, this week he proposed to the Major Lauredian Councillor, Cerni Cairat, that the executive should form part of the foundation that will be responsible for managing the project, which will have representation from the community and the Reig Foundation, among others. The head of government also stated that the amount that each administration will contribute will be equal.

Espot revealed this information following a parliamentary question from the General Councillor for Concòrdia Maria Àngels Aché. The Lauredian representative recalled that the project already has land, private funding and an architectural plan.

The building, among other services, will have 54 flats, a day centre and a restaurant area, as Cairat confirmed to the newspaper.

The building will be constructed on a plot of land next to the Sant Eloi hotel. The project was unveiled for the first time to the public in November 2022, in a joint press conference between the then councillor major, Josep Majoral, and Cairat, the councillor of the minority. The project will be possible thanks to the cession of the plot of land by the marble workers of Climent Riera.
