Since the announcement of the new project, the teams have faced a constant battle against the clock, rising material costs, variable weather and countless other challenges. But none of that has stopped the following 10 hotels from naming 2024 as the year they’ll open. As soon as the ribbons are cut, you’ll want to be sure to visit these hot spots that stretch from the Dominican Republic to Dubai.
St. Regis Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
The first major non-all-inclusive luxury hotel brand will arrive in the Dominican Republic. The 200-room hotel will feature a private beach, direct access to the Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada golf course, seven pools, seven dining options under the direction of Executive Chef Diego Munoz, a 10-room Iridium Spa, a cigar and rum lounge, beach club and kids club.
One&Only One Za’abeel , Dubai
Dubai continues to add unusual silhouettes to its collection, and the latest is from One&Only. The H-shaped structure will consist of two skyscrapers connected by The Link – the world’s longest cantilever – which will house top restaurants by renowned chefs such as Anne-Sophie Peak and the longest infinity pool in the UAE. Accommodations include Sanctuary Suites with massage tables and meditation/stretching areas and Creative Suites with acoustic panels and audiovisual equipment.
Rosewood Amsterdam
The brand’s first Dutch hotel will have a prestigious location along the Prinsengracht, giving many of the 134 apartments canal views. The hotel will draw on its history as a palace of justice from 1665 with a lobby library featuring law volumes that serve as art, but will also offer three restaurants and bars, a spa and an indoor pool.
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London
Mandarin Oriental’s second London branch will differ from its Hyde Park counterpart with its boutique character and just 50 rooms. It will also house celebrity chef Akira Buck ‘s first restaurants in the UK, including a Korean-Japanese diner, a 14-seat contemporary Korean eatery, a rooftop lounge and a cocktail bar. Expect a spa with an indoor pool and unique treatments such as binaural biohacks.
Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection , Florence
Follow the path of cypress trees to a cluster of 16th-century UNESCO buildings that include a cultural institution, school, chapel and theatre. When it opens as a hotel, it will have 82 rooms, an outdoor pool, a wine tasting room, an art gallery, a glass-enclosed garden room among olive trees, a cigar lounge and five levels of terraced baroque gardens.
Fairmont Golden Prague
Replacing the InterContinental Prague, which has called the Czech Republic’s capital home since 1974, this 297-room Fairmont promises even more opulence. It will achieve its lofty goals with a new kind of spa, three restaurants and a bar, and an unforgettable view of the Vltava River.
Corinthia Rome
Fittingly in its quest to become the city’s gold standard of elegance, the hotel occupies a seven-story building that once housed the Central Bank of Italy. As well as retaining the lovely original facade, Corinthia Rome promises priceless views from the central garden and a world-class spa that will be worth every penny.
St. Regis Red Sea Resort
Yes, getting to the ultra-luxury getaway on a private island in the middle of the Red Sea will take some maneuvering – you’ll need to charter a boat off the coast of Saudi Arabia. But this January opening St. Regis will reward your efforts with 90 overwater and beachfront villas, five restaurants, and snorkeling expeditions to the world’s fourth largest barrier reef system.
Waldorf Astoria New York
One of the world’s most iconic hotels will reopen after closing in 2017. The Waldorf Astoria, which debuted in 1893 as the brand’s first hotel, will retain its distinctive Art Deco architecture, and designer Pierre- Yves Rochon will store treasures like Cole Porter’s piano. But the renovated 375-room hotel will also feature some of the largest spaces in Manhattan, a 30,000-square-meter spa and a signature restaurant.
Emory, London
