Ten ideal wines to enjoy season 2025

by forbes

Whites, rosés and reds… disruptive and elegant options to try. With or without ice, but at a few degrees less.

The best thing about the relationship between wine  is that from seven in the evening you can uncork it without any prejudice. Whites and rosés are perfect to enjoy as an aperitif , the same goes for young reds .The recommended temperature for serving whites and rosés is between 7º and 10º, depending on the intensity of each wine. Ice? Obviously you can.

In the case of red wines, the recommendation is usually between 12º and 16º (it also varies depending on the type of wine), but also on the outside temperature and the faster the wine is heated. Therefore: it is better to serve between 10º and 12º so that when you drink it, it is at its perfect point of enjoyment.

Andeluna Blanc de Franc, from Bodega Andeluna

Andeluna is one of the pioneering wineries in producing and promoting Cabernet Franc as a varietal for high-end wines. «This wine is made from a red grape that is processed like a white grape, it is gently pressed and then destemmed, with the least possible intervention,» says David Gargantini, winemaker at Andeluna, adding: «It is a gamble by the winery to show a different interpretation of the Cabernet Franc from Gualtallary.» It is a wine with a lot of freshness and fruit, but that does not lose its Cabernet Franc DNA.

FIN Syrah Single Vineyard Finca La Surpina, from the End of the World

The origin of the Syrah grape is divided between those who maintain that it comes from the Rhône, in France, and those who affirm that it was born in the city of Shiraz, in ancient Persia. «In Patagonia,» says Juliana Del Aguila Eurnekian, President of Bodega Del Fin Del Mundo, «Syrah finds a place where it can develop in an exceptional way: the cold nights, the dry climate and the constant Patagonian wind give us a very balanced fruit that translates into very fresh and vibrant wines. As well as a great concentration of fruit that reminds us of berries, cherries and plums, spicy and herbal notes.»

Las Compuertas White Estate Project, by Durigutti Family Winemakers

The term «de finca» refers to wines that are born from a place, that aim to transmit their origin more than the grapes that compose it. This Blanco de Finca from the Durigutti brothers -made with Marsanne and Semillon- seeks exactly that: to express the IG Las Compuertas from their own organic farm with grapes characteristic of the Geographic Identification. «As a lover of white wines, we owed ourselves this wine to have in Las Compuertas a faithful example of the area and to talk about high-quality whites,» says Pablo Durigutti.

Aduentus blanc de blancs, from Bodega Antigal

Aduentus blanc de blancs is a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin, all made separately and each with its own style. Both the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc were aged for 6 months in used French oak barrels, while the Chenin was aged only in steel tanks. The wine is designed to have great balance and this moderate aging in barrels allows each variety to stand out both individually and in combination.

A young red wine, but not too young. Its name refers to that «dachshund that thinks it’s a Doberman,» says Ramiro Salas, winemaker of the Mendoza winery. «We wanted to make a young, light red wine, but our vineyard had another idea in mind and gave us a wine with a touch more structure and power, which also evolves very well over time.» It is a 100% organic Malbec from the winery’s estate located in Maipú, Mendoza.

Gaia Pinot Noir Rosé, from Domaine Bousquet

This wine was born from an idea by Anne Bousquet and Labid Al Ameri, owners of Domaine Bousquet, who wanted to have a high-end rosé wine that reflects the French style of those typical of Provence, but from Gualtallary, Mendoza. «For the 2024 harvest, we worked the harvests very well in stages: we picked one part early, to have a good acid base, and two weeks later the second part, to have the right point of ripeness and, if we needed to correct acidity, do it directly with wine,» explains Rodrigo Serrano Alou.

Sarapura Malbec from Malbecs, by Sarapura Wines

The Sarapura Wines Project was born from the hand of three agricultural engineers and friends. Their idea is to make wines from different places and unite them in a blend that expresses a unique example. Although it is 100% varietal, this Malbec of Malbecs comes from two regions of Mendoza: 82% from Los Chacayes, Tunuyán, and the remaining 18% from Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo. This wine expresses very well the freshness of the height of the Uco Valley with the elegance and structure of the first Mendoza area.

Mad Bird Reposado Ancellotta, by Corbeau Wines

Corbeau Wines is the project of the Rodríguez family, one of the pioneers in betting on this Italian strain in our country. Although it has always been associated with intense wines and is often used in blends to -precisely- give that contribution to the wines, Francisco Rodriguez, Global Sales Director of Corbeau Wines, states that «by working the soil well and with greater aeration of the bunch, lighter wines can be made that allow for more freshness and develop it as 100% varietal.»

Costa & Pampa Albariño, from Bodega Trapiche

Trapiche Costa & Pampa is located in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires Province, and is one of the first oceanic-influenced wineries in the country. Due to its maritime influence, it is a great area for making white wines. «The wines we make in Chapadmalal tend to have more acidity than those from the mountains, which makes them very fresh and quite aromatically expressive, being very faithful to what is expected of a maritime wine when one tastes it,» describes Ezequiel Ortego, the winery’s winemaker, adding: «The maritime contribution makes it closer to the Albariños from the Rías Baixas (Ed. Note: Galicia, Spain), an area that has a very similar climate to Chapadmalal.»

Yzaguirre Red Reserve Vermouth, from Bodega Yzaguirre

Although it is not 100% wine, the basis for the elaboration of all vermouth is wine. And this red reserve example from Bodega Yzaguirre is perfect for this time of year with ice and a good «scaro» of soda… and nothing else. Its color is light orange, very aromatic with notes of herbs, spices and citrus. It was aged for twelve months in oak barrels, which give it consistency and character.
