Penalties from 50 to 1,000 euros. The Ordino town council has decided to impose stricter fines to those people who infringe the norms destined to protect the integrity of the natural park of the Sorteny valley. A decision that was approved in the framework of the last meeting of the common council on March 27 with the aim of reinforcing and protecting the biodiversity of the area and guaranteeing respect for the natural environment.
One of the novelties of the new ordinance is the redefinition of infractions into categories of minor, serious and very serious. Hiking off the marked trails without authorization, for example, is considered a minor infraction and will be fined up to 150 euros. Serious penalties — such as organizing unauthorized sports competitions — can be up to 300 euros. Fines for very serious infractions — the ordinance includes in this category the burning of fire without permission, among other actions — can reach 1,000 euros. The agents of environment and circulation of the common will be the ones in charge to watch over the fulfillment of the regulation.
