The work on the piping will begin in the summer

The Encamp town council formalised an agreement  for the installation of a new drinking water and wastewater management pipeline from the Costa Rodona to the Port of Pas de la Casa, which is worth 1.5 million euros, with a contribution of some 300,000 euros from Icònic. The mayor of Encamp, Laura Mas, explained that the infrastructure will provide water supply ‘to the benzineres and hotels and even to Cramea’, as the area did not have this service.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Encamp; the Director of Icònic, David Astrié; the Director of Bomosa, Turi Mora, and the Director of Saetde, Joan Viladomat. In this sense, Mas wanted to express his gratitude to Saetde for ceding part of the land for the installation of the canonades, a decision that will ‘save metres that would have to pass along the road’.

In the common session held this Thursday in Encamp, the project for the new water network was approved. According to Mas, the next step is to draw it up so that the tender for the work can be opened. However, the council expects construction to begin in the summer of next year, thanks to the completion of the access road.

Likewise, the signing of a second agreement has also been formalised today, which will allow sportsmen and women to access the Pas de la Casa sports centre once the Icònic centre is operational. Astrié, without specifying a specific date for the end of the centre, has reported on the recent receipt of ‘all the offers’ and that he hopes to be able to review them next week and confirm more details in this regard. With regard to the fact that at the Congress of Snow, Mountains and Welfare, the director explained that this date was stipulated ‘because it will not be in 2025’.
